| Disable AOL Graphics
Compression
To conserve bandwidth, AOL automatically compresses
images causing great distortion of images. You can either turn this option
off in AOL or use Netscape or Internet Explorer as an external browser.
Using "as an external browser" means that while AOL is open,
you can independently open a browser in a separate window from AOL.
To disable AOL graphics compression:
- Click Settings (or
My AOL in earlier versions) in the menu
bar, then select Preferences.
- Click the WWW icon.
- Select the Web Graphics
tab.
- Select Never Compress Graphics
(or uncheck Use Compressed Graphics in
earlier versions)
Click OK and close the window.
You may need to clear your computer's cache
which can contain earlier images you've viewed on the Internet (which are
distored versions):
- Click My AOL or
Settings in the menu bar, then select Preferences.
- Click WWW icon.
- On the General tab,
under Temporary Internet Files, click Delete
Files.
- Check Delete All Offline
Content (varies in earlier versions).
- Click OK.
